October Wrap-Up: Goodbye Blogtober!

Hey! We are already halfway into November, which is unbelievable, and the Christmas vibes are already starting! It is taking all my power not to start decorating, but I know it is going to start happening soon. I am just trying to get all the use out of pumpkins as I can. You know how much I love pumpkins. Maybe I’ll end up doing some strange hybrid, with fall leaves and winter garland!

Last month, I may have not done a ton of reading (thanks, reading slump), but I did do a whole lot of blogging. I participated in Blogtober! This was my first year participating, and I was unsure how I was going to actually do it. I am pretty proud of myself if I’m being honest, and I can’t wait to do it again.

Next year, I am going to start planning in June. This was my first year participating, and I have learned a lot, the number one thing being PLANNING! I had done absolutely none, considering I decided to do it like four days before October. This lead to me writing each blog post the day I posted, it was a little stressful. But next year, I’ll be ready!

Alright, here is my wrap-up of the month, including the two books (graphic novels) I actually ended up reading, and my favorite blog posts of the month!

Reading

Alright, let’s get this over with since it was so bad. I read two graphic novels this month. I actually read another book, but it was racist, classist, and a 1 star read, so I don’t even feel like talking about it.

These two graphic novels were a perfect addition to my spooky season. They are full of so many fun creatures. I wrote reviews for Volume 1 and Volume 2, so check them out!

Okay, that’s it for reading…

Blogging

…now onto the good stuff!

I have 31 blog posts to pick from here, so this will be difficult! Here are a few of my favorites!

1. Fictional Places I want to Spend Halloween
Fictional Places I want to Spend Halloween

This post was so fun to write because I loved imagining myself celebrating Halloween in each of these places. I still think Panem would be wild on Halloween. Just think of all the costumes Panem’s citizens would come up with.

2. Halloweentown Book Tag
Halloweentown Booktag

This is the first book tag I have ever created, which makes me ridiculously proud! I loved creating this and I received so much joy every time someone did it on their blog. I also got to watch the movie while I was creating the tag, which made it worth it!

3. Bookish Autumn DIYs
Bookish Autumn DIYs

I was also incredibly proud of this post because it took a lot of work to put together. I am doing DIYs all the time, and I finally decided to show some of them on my blog. I am not the world’s best crafter, and these are pretty simple DIYs, but they were a lot of fun to create, and I hope others have fun completing them.

4. 20 Books I Plan to Read Before 2020
20 Books I plan to read before 2020

This post was honestly created in hopes of motivating me to finish my Goodreads challenge before the New Year. And, who doesn’t have fun deciding what books they are going to read? I’m going to be honest, I am already straying from this TBR because I am such a mood reader, but it was still a lot of fun to write. And it looks pretty, all those books lined up!

5. 7 Bookish Halloween Costumes
7 Bookish Halloween Costumes

Since I don’t ever dress up for Halloween, other than the pajama onesies I own, I had fun creating this list and imagining all the fun characters I could dress up as. And hey, you have to give me some credit, I didn’t include Katniss, despite how much I love that series. Growth!

It was a fun, busy, and spooky month. I am going to miss all the creepy movies and ghosts, but I am thrilled about the upcoming Holiday season. I am hoping to come up with some wintery blog posts so stay tuned!
