Fictional Places I want to Spend Halloween

I am so looking forward to Halloween night. I have no plans except watching spooky movies and cuddling with my dogs. What could be better than that? Although I will be spending this night on the all too real planet earth, I will be dreaming of all the fictional places where I want to spend Halloween. I am the queen of daydreaming, so this should be fun.

Hogwarts

I’m sorry, I know this is the most basic answer, but who wouldn’t want to spend Halloween at Hogwarts? It is a huge, sometimes spooky, castle. And look at those floating jack-o-lanterns! You probably know by now my obsession with pumpkins, so this scene from the movies hit my right in my aesthetic heart. Can you imagine the food they have? The tables are probably filled with pumpkin pasties and pumpkin juice. Plus, the candy for trick or treating would be epic, chocolate frogs, licorice wands, and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans. UGH, now I’m hungry and thirsty. Harry Potter really does that to you, doesn’t it?

Emberfall

Okay, but imagine Emberfall in the fall, covered in orange, yellow, and red leaves. There is a chill in the air, and you are wearing a super comfy sweater. Sorry, I got a little carried away there, but I can so imagine spending Halloween in Emberfall. Let’s pretend there is no more curse, but there is still fresh food and music constantly playing in the castle. Of course, those are both autumn-themed in this fantasy. I can’t even begin to imagine the wonderful decorations you could do in a whole castle. Maybe the moral of the story here is that I should live in a castle. By the way, you can read my review of this book here!

Halloweentown

Okay, I’m sorry but how could I not include Halloweentown, it is literally a town dedicated to Halloween. This may not be from a book, but there is a book within the movie so technically it is a book… right? That was confusing, but yes, please let me spend Halloween in Halloweentown so I can say hello the all of the spooky citizens. Oh, and maybe even fly on a broomstick, that would be cool.

Also, bonus, imagine spending Halloween at Witch University, where Marnie attends school in Return to Halloweentown. I am telling you, I am a fan of castles.

Le Cirque des Rêves

I think I would die if I could spend any day at Le Cirque des Rêves, but Halloween would be even more incredible. The food, the strange ambiance, the performers. It would be amazing. I could totally see Marco or Celia creating a tent that was full of floating pumpkins, like those at Hogwarts. Maybe they should add a castle too! Just kidding, but seriously, can this circus be real. I want to drift around around, looking for tents I have never seen before while drinking hot chocolate and eating chocolate rats.

Hesekiel’s House

To be honest, I am only picking this one because I am imagining how adorable it would be to put the little tea dragons in adorable costumes for Halloween. Of course, everyone there would be super welcoming and there would be an endless supply of hot tea, but can you imagine the babies in little costumes? I would take them trick or treating without a doubt.

Bonus Answer: The Capitol

Stick with me on this one, because it is strange. BUT… imagine how absolutely crazy holidays like Halloween would be in the capitol. And, I am talking before the revolution, when the capitol was all about excess and pleasure. We already know the fashion in The Capitol is wild but can you imagine these people putting together Halloween costumes. Of course, we are totally ignoring the corruption and murder in this conversation… heh… heh heh…

Notice how I didn’t include anything spooky! I am sure the Vaccaro school from The Tenth Girl by Sara Faring and Sawkill Rock from Sawkill Girls would fit this list perfectly, but I am not the type for haunted houses, let alone haunted schools and murderous islands. No, thank you. Yes, I love to read, watch, and hear about all things dark and spooky, but I would NEVER want to experience it. This is why I never go to haunted houses.

Tell me down in the comments below which fictional places you would want to spend Halloween, I am curious! Also, don’t judge me too hard on selecting The Capitol. I am just curious, I PROMISE! I don’t condone murder!

Love, Jackie
