The Halloween Book Tag

I can’t believe we are finishing up this month of October already! Where did the past 31 days go? I am so proud to say that I have successfully completed blogtober! On TWO blogs no less! I am so proud of myself for putting my mind to it. And that is also the reason why I am not doing NaNoWriMo this year. I think I need a break from… everything!

Anyway, in hopes of celebrating the spookiest day of the year, and to round out my month of blogging, I am going to complete The Halloween Book Tag! I did this tag on Halloween of last year, and you can see those answers here!

I remember these questions being a lot of fun, and perfect for this, my absolute favorite day of the year. It is almost over and I am honestly a little sad. I truly do love this time of year, and I’m not ready for it to all change to Christmas, no matter how much I love Christmas too! My decorations are staying spooky for a little while longer!

The original creator of the tag is Naomi from Youtube, so definitely check them out! I am omitting one question for… reasons… but you can see all the questions on the original video!

Carving Pumpkins: What book would you carve up and light on fire

I still think this question is so violent lol!

So, here is a book I really didn’t enjoy! I really wanted to like this series because I saw how much everyone else was enjoying the new book releases. But I couldn’t even get past the first book…

Trick or Treating: What character is a trick, and what character is a treat?

A trick? The stepmom from House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig. I didn’t like her from the start. A treat? Ever from Loveboat, Taipei by Abigail Hing Wen. I want only success and love for Ever!

Candy Corn: What book is so sweet, and you always love it?

I don’t read a lot of sweet books, but this one was so so sweet and adorable and lovely. I absolutely adored both the main characters and seeing their relationship grow was wonderful! Nothing sweeter than a good enemies to lovers book!

Ghost: What character would you love to have visit you?

None… because I don’t like meeting people!

Get a Life, Chloe Brown Book Cover

J.k. If I had to pick one, I would pick Chloe Brown. I just feel like we would get along really well, especially our mutual love for all things stationary. And I like cats too!

Dressing up in costumes: What character would you want to be for a day?

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern Book Cover

I would be down to be Zachery Ezra Rawlins for a day. But only during the days where he is discovering the magical massive library under the city, or chilling with cats. Not when he is doing anything too crazy or adventurous… I would hate that.

Blood and Gore: What book was so creepy that you had to take a break from it for a while?

Wilder Girls by Rory Power book cover

This book got… dark. It was more so I had to stop because I felt so bad for what these characters were going through. It was all so horrible, I needed a break from feeling so bad for them. Not so much that I was scared. It takes a lot to scare me!

Well, that’s a wrap I guess! This month has been incredible and difficult, but I am so proud of myself for completing it! I did not read nearly as many spooky books as I was hoping, but I am planning on extending my TBR a little into November! That is still fall. Spooky season is every day in this house!

Anyway, I hope you all has a happy and safe Halloween!

Love, Jackie
