25+ Summer Book Blog Post Ideas

Over the course of 7 years as a blogger, I have spent countless hours coming up with blog post ideas, writing, taking photos, and more. A lot goes into running a blog! However, whenever I was struggling with inspiration or motivation surrounding my blog, one thing I always knew is that I could lean on the book community. Whether I was searching for my next read or lacking inspiration for my next Bookstagram photo, I knew I had a whole host of inspiring creators around me. I want to be there for others as much as people in this community have been for me, which is why I am sharing this list of my favorite summer book blog post ideas.

Despite how much support and love there is in the blogosphere, one thing I do not understand is how gatekept information is. Whether it be tips on SEO or where to find quality photos, information on how to create and run a successful blog tends to be behind a paywall.

I hate it. It has taken me years to learn things that people can learn in one day if they can afford it. And everything I know comes from the rare bits of information you can find on the internet as well as trial and error.

With this being said, I am no expert at all. I am still managing to make mistakes and learn things about blogging that would have grown this community faster and quicker. But I still want to share what I know with others in hopes of inspiring people to feel confident and comfortable starting their own blog.

Especially when I first started, one of the hardest things for me was finding ideas for blog posts. I only read so many books, and enjoy so many genres so eventually, I wasn’t sure what to write anymore. Over the years, I have figured out some good blog post ideas that both bloggers and readers alike can enjoy.

Why Write Seasonal Blog Posts?

My goals as a blogger is to write content that people want to see and content that will be relevant for a long time. However, I also want to have fun and so do my readers. I write so much seasonal content, especially in fall and winter, like spooky books for the spooky season and winter fantasy recommendations. Despite these blog posts not being relevant all year long, they still have a positive outcome for my blog.

Here are some of the benefits of seasonal blog posts:

  • It Leads to spikes in blog traffic that can happen year after year: Posting seasonal articles and blog posts to your site can lead to spikes of traffic to your website. This will lead to new readers and a bigger community. And this isn’t only one-time traffic. Some of my seasonal Halloween blog posts bring me spikes in traffic each fall. More traffic means more readers and more friends! Also, more money if you have monetized your blog! Let’s face it, that’s important for some of us as well.
  • It lets you build a relationship with your readers: Seasonal blog posts are fun to read. They will never fail to bring a smile to my face. Blog posts with summer themes or spring topics help start conversations with my readers. One of the most important parts of running a book blog for me is building a community, and these conversations allow me to do just that.
  • It’s fun: The most important reason to post seasonal blog posts is it’s simply fun! I am all about finding as much joy in life as you can, and one way to do that is by embracing every season like it is the best thing I have ever experienced. Posting seasonal blog posts on my website feels like decorating my apartment for holidays or eating seasonal food. Not necessary, but the best part of the season. It lets me find some enjoyment in even my least favorite seasons like summer.
