Hi hi!

I was tagged by Claire @ bookscoffeeandrepeat to do the ‘What Makes You Happy?’ Tag. Thank you so much! Please go check out her blog if you love books… and coffee!!!!! She posts really great content!

5 Things that Make me Happy

  1. Books! Duh… I get such a happy feeling when the universe gives me the precious gift of “time to read”. I love curling up in bed with my dogs, a candle, and a warm cup of coffee, reading a good book. Of course, there are times when I want to throw my books out of the window but that just means I love these books extra!
  2. Coffee! Hello, do you know the name of my blog?! How do you think I read so late into the night? Oh of course, I regret it the next day… but it is worth it!
  3. Dogs! Especially my own! I adore them more than the world. I have a mug that says “my best friend has four paws” and it couldn’t be more true. I just… love seeing dogs. I can feel my mood heighten when I see them! Whenever I see one in public I can’t help yelling “DOGGIE!!!!!!” and pointing it out to my mom, like I am a toddler just learning the name of the adorable animal. I just love the way they walk. They are all pure and gorgeous creatures!
  4. Dance! I have such a deep passion for dance. I am currently studying dance in college and it has been an amazing experience. I get to start dancing again in two weeks and I am so excited and a bit nervous because I am a little out of shape from winter… You can learn more about my dance story in my previous blog post
  5. Films! In the past couple of years, I have developed a love of watching films. I love watching incredible actors bring beautiful stories to life. Some of my favorite films include The Hunger Games series, Joy, Interstellar, Silver Linings Playbook, and Titanic. (If you see the Jennifer Lawrence trend, it is pretty obvious… she is 100% my favorite actress!)

5 Songs that Make me Happy

  1. More Than Life- Whitley: This song is my most played song according to iTunes. Although this song comes from a very VERY sad episode of my favorite TV show, Dance Academy, it has moved towards bringing me happiness and I tend to listen to it when I am down or need some time to focus. I also choreographed a solo dance performance to it a couple years ago. It was not my best work but I was proud that I did it.
  2. One Step Closer- Shane Harper: I absolutely love this song. I am going to be honest, I first heard this song on a Disney Channel show, Good Luck Charlie, but I fell in love with it and the artist, Shane Harper. He is definitely an auto-buy for me in the music world.
  3. Hallelujah- anyone: I have always loved this song! I also love hearing new renditions of it because I think people interpret it in different and interesting ways. Have you heard Penatonix’s version of this song?!?!
  4. Moments- One Direction: Again, this is a sad song, but it is from my favorite band and I love it! I am a shameless fan of One Direction… even though they are no longer a band LOL! This song brings back a lot of memories of me and one of my best friends!
  5. Best of Both Worlds- Hannah Montana: OK, I was the biggest Hannah Montana fan when I was younger. That show was/is my life. I still watch it at least once a year. Such quality!!!!!!! This is a song I will play if I am in need of an uplifting song that I can jump around to. This is such a hype song! Please say I am not the only one?!?!

This was one of my favorite tags! I so enjoyed doing this tag because it made me so happy to think of all the things that make me so happy! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit more about me!

Love,

Jackie

  1. Yes! “Hallelujah” is such a beautiful song. If you haven’t heard Brandi Carlile’s cover you should check it out. It’s so gorgeous. Also, for what it’s worth, Leonard Cohen said his all time favorite version is Bon Jovi’s. Since Cohen wrote the song I’ve always been intrigued by his take on all the covers. Anyway, thanks for the fun post!

    1. Thank you so much! Yes it is truly a wonderful song. I always have some version or another on the playlist I am listening to. I love the Brandi Carlile version! It was one of the first I heard. I have not listened to the Bon Jovi version but I guess I should! Thanks for the recommendation.
