The Fall Book Tag

Can you believe fall is almost over? Yes, I know that the season isn’t almost over, we still have a good month left. But in society, fall is over after Halloween night. For some people, fall is already over and they have moved on to winter, but I am still holding on to all the pumpkins I can get for the last couple of days of October. I need to go get myself a Pumpkin Creme Cold Brew one last time before they start serving the Christmas drinks.

Anyway, the end of October also means the end of Blogtober. Can you believe that it has been so long? At the beginning of August, I started planning for Blogtober, and I was so prepared to write all my posts before the month of October even started. I wanted to be so ahead of the game that I didn’t even have to worry about it. But here we are, writing this the day I am posting it. I guess I didn’t do as well as I was hoping.

BUT! In a couple days I can say that I have successfully completed my second year of Blogtober. On two blogs this year, which I thought was going to be impossible, but here we are! You can check out my Blogtober posts on my other blog here!

So, for the 3rd to last day of the month, I am doing The Fall Book Tag. This was created by Bionic Book Worm, so definitely go check out their blog. I initially saw this tag on The Mermaid Behind the Books, so check them out as well, while you’re at it.

Rules!

  • Please link back to Bionic Book Worm, as the creator of this tag!! She wants to see your answers!!
  • Use the graphics – if you want
  • Have fun!

I didn’t end up using the graphics but you can find them on the original post!

Crisp Fall Air: A book that felt fresh and new

Book Cover of Mirage by Somaiya Daud

I had no idea what to expect when starting Mirage by Somaiya Daud, but I was absolutely impressed by how unique and interesting this story was. This fantasy/sci-fi story was unlike anything I have ever read before, I can’t wait to read the sequel.

Howling Winds: An Ending that blew you away

Book cover of A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown

Obsessed with this book, A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown. Equally impressed by the ending. It was so good, so intense, and left me ready for the sequel! I adore Malik as a character and can’t wait to read more from him and Karina.

Leaf Fight: A book with non stop action

book cover of Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller

Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller definitely holds it’s own. I would never have expected to enjoy a pirate book. It just doesn’t seem like something I would find interesting. However, I was definitely intrigued by all the action that happened in this book, and I am interested in reading the sequel to learn more about the father-daughter dynamic that was beginning to emerge.

Pumpkin Spice: Your most anticipated read

I have to pick one?!

book cover of Catherine House

This book is out, so it isn’t an anticipated release, but it is definitely an anticipated read. I am almost finished reading The Ninth House by Leigh Bardugom and I am loving it. I have been wanting to read more from the dark academia genre, so Catherine House by Elisabeth Thomas sounds like the perfect next book. I just need to get my hands on a copy!

Comfy Sweaters: A book that gave you the warm and fuzzy’s

book cover of Let's Talk about love by

I loved everything about this book, Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann, from the story to the characters. I felt so comfortable reading this book and meeting these characters. Every time I think about it, it is like a warm hug. Especially the ending!

Bright Colors: A cover with either red, orange, or yellow

Book cover of Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon

The yellow and orange on the cover of Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon are so bold and beautiful, I can’t help but think of Autumn when I look at it. I really want to read this book by the end of this year so… wish me luck.

I have definitely not been reading a lot over the past month, so a lot of these books have been repeated on multiple blog posts this month. But life gets in the way sometimes, and so does mental health. We can only do so much, and right now, for me, writing this blog post is enough.

I hope you are all having an amazing end to October. Please soak up all the fall deliciousness before it gets lost to the candy canes and lights. I definitely will be!

Love, Jackie
