The Coziest Books to Warm your Soul During the Colder Months

What even defines a cozy book? I feel like this definition is so different for so many people, even myself. I can find a dark twisted book just as cozy as I find a contemporary romance. I know, I’m weird. But one of my favorite things to read, when it starts getting colder, are my comfort reads, and those are so specific to each person. One of my comfort reads is The Hunger Games. it is dark, twisted, and thrilling. And yet, it makes me feel all warm and nostalgic inside.

This year, i haven’t had a lot of time to indulge in my comfort reads, as I have been so focused on the push to finish all the books I wanted to read before the end of 2020. I am seriously so behind, but i am so determined to read these books. I just need to get my act together and actually read instead of watching TV every time I come home from work.

But, once December is over, I am absolutely going to fill my TBR with cozy comfort reads. It is still going to be cold then, right? Anyway, here are a couple of my favorite cozy reads. There is something for everyone on this list!

Here is a book for everyone looking for a contemporary fantasy. Sometimes, high fantasy magical worlds can be so fun. Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

I am kind of cheating with this one… because I haven’t actually finished this book. But I promise I have read enough to understand the vibe and this is a cozy book for everyone who wants something dark and twisted. Sometimes it is cozy to read about something so disconnected from our realities like secret societies at Yale University. Also, I just thing fall on the east coast is the best, so it is nice to read about it.

Gosh, why does my brain insist on telling me to watch TV when I am home from work instead of reading! I swear I just want to read cozy books right now, but the attention level I can keep is so short. I just need to force myself I guess. Or find a book that can really draw me in.

What is your comfort book? Or other cozy books you love to read this time of year?

Love, Jackie
