Summary

As Maija continues at her new school, Applemoor Academy for the Magically Talented, things get a little more complicated. Tensions are high amongst the students because of the newly integrated school system. All the while, Maija is trying to adjust to her new workload, new friends, distant roommate, and mysterious boys. As All Hallows Eve comes around, the school plans a big party and ritual to allow spirits to pass to their final resting place. Although every aspect of this party was planned, down to the cleanup crew, the ritual falls into disorder, putting many of the students in danger.

Review

This installment in the High School Magical series is filled with more drama and more complexities, as the students get used to the new environment present at the school, dealing with different types of people in a new and strange environment. This topic is super relevant right now and it is interesting how it is being dealt with in a fantasy situation, especially with the Halloween costumes at the party. A message that comes out of this: We all have differences and it is important to learn about and be curious about each other in a respectful manner. This helps us grow as people.

This second installment in the series is full of crushes and tension. There is also a lot of talk about pie (LOL). JJ is showing himself to be the antithesis of Maija and I am interested to see where this relationship goes from here… because I ship them. There was also talk of secret societies that may be impacting the students of the school. I am intrigued to learn more about this. This was a fantastic second installment into the High School Magical series and I am looking forward to reading the November “episode”.
