Halloween Creatures 2.0 Book Tag

Blogoween Day 1

Hello, all you bookish ghouls!!

Happy first day of October and the first day of Blogoween!! (Click here to learn more) I can’t believe it is already October. I don’t even remember what I did in September. I still need to post my September Wrap-up, which will be very short… Stay tuned for that.

Today’s host for Blogoween is Anthony from Keep Reading Forward and the prompt is a reVAMPed (LOL) version of the Halloween Creatures Book Tag! Well, let’s get into it, shall we!

Witch
A Magical Character or Book

121121
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling

Duh! My brain automatically goes to this book series when I hear the word magic! I only read this series two years ago but I am very happy that I did!

Werewolf
The Perfect Book to Read at Night

All Books! I am a night reader! Every once in a while, I will read during the day but I always get too distracted by all of the things I need to get done.

Frankenstein
A Book that Truly Shocked You

27221614
Progeny by Tosca Lee

I walked into this book knowing absolutely nothing about it and I was very much pleasantly surprised. It took me on such a journey and I am so excited to read the second book. You can find my review of this book, here.

The Devil
A Dark, Evil Character

10194157
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I mean, it is literally in his name, The DARKling. He ended up being so dark and so well written. I have only read the first book in the series but I am in definite need of more!

Grim Reaper
A Character that Should Never Have Died

Mockingjay
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

You know full well how I fee about Finnick. That is all I am going to say on that subject.

Zombie
A Book that Made You “Hungry” for More

27221614
Progeny by Tosca Lee

I am going to have to bring this one back because I am definitely excited and ready to read the second book, which is already out!

Gargoyle
A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost

large

Sweet, Sweet baby Peeta.

Vampire
A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You

0451524497
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

I don’t know if this was supposed to be positive but I am going to make it negative. This book took me almost three years to finish and I could feel a little piece of myself turning grey every time I picked up the book. It took me so long to finish because I literally had no motivation.

Ghost
A Book that Still Haunts You

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I will always think about this book series. It will never leave my consciousness. It is now a permanent piece of my personality (alliteration intended).

Demon
A Book that Really Scared You

13597728
Asylum by Madeleine Roux

I read this book late into the night and I was genuinely scared. I remember finishing it and then needing to go downstairs in the dark to grab something and I ran. I mean.. I booked it back up those stairs, that is how scared I was (pun intended). I would love to reread this book in October to see if it still has the same effect on me and to get the scary Halloween vibes.

Skeleton
A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With

41LPBRNaVCL._SX355_BO1,204,203,200_
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

This was a tough prompt. I guess the closest I could think of was Gale because I did not like him by the end of the series. But I don’t think I would like to do anything to his bones haha! I have no idea what I am talking about.

Mummy
A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time

All the Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

I am still reading this book (I know) and I am obsessed with how beautiful the writing is and how interesting the story is. This book has only been around for four years but I have a feeling like it will be around for a lot longer than that. It is such an interesting perspective on a story that has been told many times.

Creepy Doll
A Cover too Scary to Look At

416-3N8L-WL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_
Bad Girla Don’t Die by Katie Alender

I have not read this book yet but this cover is just so creepy. The light pink and lace juxtapose the covered face, which makes me intrigued and nervous to read this book. Maybe it would be a good book to read for October!

The Monster Mash

That was a fun tag to do! I love all of the Halloween creatures!

Talk to me!

Have you read any of these books?

Do we have any of the same answers?

Do we have any different answers?

Let me know!

Love,

Jackie
