Books and Disney Villians

So, I was tagged over on bookstagram by @whatsername_reads to do this tag and I thought it would be fun to bring it to my blog because the questions were so much fun to answer! I am not going to tag anyone here but feel free to answer the questions on your own blog!

Captain Hook (a book that made you wish time stood still)

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

I was completely enthralled while reading this book. The world that the author creates is so intricate and I was drawn in from the first chapter. I never wanted to stop reading this book. I still need to read the rest of the series so I am planning on binge reading it before my summer is over… which is in a month… and I also have like 10 other books to finish. So… yeah!

Cruella de Ville (a book that made you angry)

The Forgotten Ones by Steena Holmes

I read this book two months ago and I am still in love with it. I gave it a 5/5 review, which you can read here. What made me so angry about it was the constant lies and mystery. I JUST NEED ANSWERS!!! I wanted to know why everyone was keeping secrets from the main character, Elle. But trust me, when you find out why it is so worth it. Like, what a story!

Maleficent (a book full of magic)

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J. K. Rowling

I think this one is pretty obvious. I picked the first one in the series because, for me, it is the most magical. The reader is introduced into the world and gets all of the in-depth descriptions of the setting and magic. I love it.

Queen of Hearts (a book that made you cry)

Mockingjay
Mockingjay by Susanne Collins

I’ll just be honest, I am so attached to these characters, which is why this book completely broke my heart. I mean (SPOILER)… Finnick… and Prim. I hope the books AND movies have been out long enough for me to write that.

Scar (a book you want to read again)

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray

I read this book years ago, and I mean YEARS. I am pretty sure I was in middle school, which is to say, I do not remember a single thing about this book other than the fact that I loved it. So, I need to reread it but I have been holding off because I am scared I won’t like it as much, which is always the worst feeling.

Jafar (a book that made you wish you were part of the story)

Harry Potter and the Whatever by J. K. Rowling

Of course, I am going to say this series. Who wouldn’t want to be whisked away at the age of eleven to a magical school? I am jealous and I want to be able to use the spell Accio to bring me my coffee and books when I am laying in bed too lazy to stand up.

Shan Yu (a book that was dark but good)

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

This book was absolutely amazing. I was drawn into the world and The Darkling. I mean, who wouldn’t be. *swoon* I still need to read the rest of the trilogy, which should really be written on my gravestone, but I will! I loved the first one so much I am going to reread it and then move on to the other two. Just like every other series on my shelf. What can I say? I love binge reading series.

Ursula (a book you’d recommend to everyone)

Stange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

This has quickly become one of my favorite books. Even though I have heard people say that they couldn’t get into it, I will recommend it with my dying breath. And, if you don’t know I am dramatic by now, I can’t help you.

I loved that I was able to expand on my answers by bringing it over to my blog. I think I will do this with other bookstagram tags as well. #follow me @bookish.coffee

Also, sorry for all of the gifs. I just really love all of these characters and their relatable facial expressions and mannerisms.

Talk to me!

Do you agree with any of my answers?

Do you disagree?

What is your favorite villain and why?

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Jackie

  1. I love all of your answers! I hadn’t heard of The Forgotten Ones before so I’ve just added that to my TBR! And I haven’t read A Great and Terrible Beauty before either. I’ve also not had a chance to dive into Strange the Dreamer but if it is anything like her first series, I am positive I would agree with your choice for this. But aside from those books, I agree with all your answers! Great tag!

  2. Aw, Mocking Jay broke my heart as well! I loved the characters so so much. But the ending with Peeta and Katniss made me very happy <3 Ooh I've heard so much about Strange the Dreamer, haha time to add yet another book to my TBR. 🙂

  3. Some really great books here! You definitely need to read the rest of Shadow and Bone series because The Darkling …*shudders* haha!
Mockingjay was soooo so sad 😭
