As I am getting back into my blog and writing, and I am reminded how much I love completing book tags. I haven’t done a book tag in a while because well, I haven’t done anything in a while, so I thought it was as good a time as any.
I always found that book tags are a fun way to get recommendations that I never knew I needed. The number of books I have added to be Goodread’s TBR from reading other people’s book tag posts is astronomical. Which is one of the reasons I love writing them. Just another reason to share the books I have been reading. And honestly, it gives me something to post when I have no creative energy! I let someone else do all the creative work.
This is a tag that I have never heard of before, but I love the premise. I recently had a conversation with a friend about my three signs, sun, moon, and rising, and it was really interesting to see the things I did and didn’t connect with. So I feel like this is the perfect time to connect that with books. Maybe these books are somehow related to my three signs. I don’t know how that works but maybe!
I found this tag on a huge list of tags that Zezee with Books posted on their blog. This tag was created by My Bookish Universe back in 2017.

Aries: Name a Book You’ve Read that was full of Fire, Desire, and Passion
HEE HEE
Starting off this post strong with a prompt I can’t really answer because I don’t read passion and desire-themed books. But Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins has lots of fire hehe.
Taurus: Name a Book that You’ve Read that was Beautifully Written
I became such a massive fan of Erin Morgenstern when I read The Night Circus, and that love only grew when I read The Starless Sea. This book was so magical, and the prose was beautiful. There is something about Morgenstern’s writing that completely wraps me up in a cozy cocoon of magic.

Gemeni: Name a Book You’ve Read that Features Twins
If you have read Mirage by Somaiya Daud, you know that the two characters aren’t actually twins but they are identical in appearance. Plus, this was one of my favorite reads last year, and I think everyone should give it a shot. I didn’t have any expectations going into this book and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it.
Cancer: Name a Book You’ve Read that was a Real Tear-Jerker
I adored this book. I don’t think I have ever physically cried from reading a book (if you have recommendations, give them to me), but We Are Okay by Nina LaCour was such a sorrowful, melancholy book, it definitely impacted my mood a lot the couple of days I spent reading it. While reading, I felt deeply connected to the characters, despite how short it was. Whenever I get attached to characters, I know my heart will be torn out by the end of the book, and that is exactly what happened here.
Leo: Name a Book You’ve Read that Featured Coragous Characters
The passion that Ever has for her love of performing in Loveboat, Taipei by Abigail Hing Wen is so beautiful to read. I find it super courageous when people stand up to those who are telling them they can’t follow their dreams. It is something I have faced, and it is something I was never able to do myself.

Virgo: Name a Book You’ve Read that was Pure Perfection
I truly don’t think I have ever read a book that I considered “perfection,” but The Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo included so many of my favorite elements in books, it came pretty close. My favorite books to read are dark academia, fantasy, and paranormal. This book included all three and it captured my soul. I can’t wait for the second book in this series. But you know what that means… I will not read it for years after it is finally released. Yes, I have yet to read Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes…
Libra: Name a Book You’ve Read that is Neither Good or Bad
I love a good thriller or mystery novel. So when everyone was recommending Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson, I thought it would be the perfect book for me, especially it being set in a boarding school, one of my favorite settings. However, I, unfortunately, did not connect to it the way I would have liked. I can’t really pinpoint why exactly I didn’t connect to it, other than maybe the characters. Like I have said many times before, I need to connect with the characters in order to care for a story, and that didn’t happen with this.
This book wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t good either.
Scorpio: Name a Book You’ve Read that was Dark and Mysterious
From all the Riley Sager books I have read, it is clear that this author knows how to create mystery and intrigue in the writing. Lock Every Door was no exception. Throughout reading the first 90% of the book, I had no idea what was happening, I was just jealous that the main character, Jules, was being paid to live in a huge luxury apartment. Of course, things weren’t what they seemed. But, I would absolutely take that job.
Sagittarius: Name a Book You’ve Read that was Full of Adventure
I mean the main character is a pirate, of course, this book is full of adventure. I wasn’t really expecting to, but I really did enjoy reading Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller. The confidence of the main character was so exciting to read, and I loved watching her get in and out of all the crazy situations during the story.
Capricorn: Name a Book You’ve Read that Made you Think
I picked up When No One is Watching by Alyssa Cole book because I am a huge fan of thrillers, and I had seen a lot of other readers loving it. But the portrayal of gentrification, microaggressions, and all that comes with it made me stay. It was such a deep portrayal of this subject, with the addition of horror and thriller elements. I love when books push past what you expect from them. Just, read this book.
Aquarius: Name a Book You’ve Read that was Really Quirky
The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa is one of those books that just feels good. It is all vibes, no plot. I wasn’t sure about the definition of quirky, but I loved the relationship that develops between the two main characters. The use and discussion of numbers were also super unique.
Pisces: Name a Book You’ve Read that was very imaginative
Super imaginative, super creative, and everything I want in a book. I am definitely in need of a reread of A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer. I read this book two years ago and fell in love with the story and characters. Of course, now that I am ready to read the next book in the series, I have forgotten 95% of the first book. But I am not mad about it.
Sometimes, when I am doing tags, I feel like I include the same books over and over again. But that’s okay. That just means I need to read more books, which is a-okay with me.
