Summer is almost over… finally! I don’t think I have ever been so ready for autumn than I am right now. This year has been absolutely crazy, and I am thrilled to finally be rid of the heat and anxiety that accompanies summer. It is my least favorite time of year. BUT, I am trying not to stay in a negative mindset right now. There is far too much of that lately.
So, I am going to celebrate the end of summer by completing The Summer Book Tag. I don’t think I have ever done this tag before, so it will be fun to check out the questions. I saw this tag on It’s a Reading Thing’s website, so go check out their responses to this tag here!
What book cover makes you think of summer?
I mean, all the seashells and flowers! The colors are so bright and happy. It is so summery. Plus, the title, The Summer I Turned Pretty, makes me think the book is about summer as well.
What book has brightened your day?
Get a Life, Chloe Brown was such an adorable and loving book. It made my heart so warm. There were many moments of humor that made me laugh out loud, which is rare for me. I definitely want to read more from Talia Hibbert.
Find a book cover with yellow on it
Raybearer is on the very top of my TBR. As soon as I heard the premise of the book during a YALLWEST panel, I immediately added it to my TBR. I am such a fan of fantasy, and this book seems like something I would really enjoy. And there is yellow on the cover, lol!
What action book had you running for the ice cream man?
I’m not gonna lie, I really don’t understand what it means to run for the ice cream man because of action but… A Song of Wraiths and Ruin has action in it so… yeah? I really enjoyed this book, you can read all about how amazing it is in my review, here.
“Sunburn” What book left you with a bad or painful ending?
I’m not going to say much, but this ending was painful. Ouch. I can’t believe I haven’t read the sequel to this book yet, but I need to. I have already read the first one twice lol!
(Sunset) What book gave you the happiest feeling with the ending?
The ending of You Should See Me in a Crown truly put a smile on my face. I adored the characters so much and watching them experience joy was wonderful. You can see my review of this amazing book here.
What book cover reminds you of a sunset?
I am one of the biggest fans of The Tea Dragon Society, the first book in this graphic novel series. This is the most recent, and I would say the most beautiful, cover in the series. The colors remind me of a beautiful sunset!
What is one book or series you hope to read this summer?
Well… it is the end of summer so who know if I will actually get to this series. I am planning on at least finishing the first book before fall comes around. I have heard amazing things about this book, I couldn’t be more excited to see what it is all about.
Summer is finally coming to a close and fall is on it’s way. Although summer is my least favorite time of year, I enjoyed celebrating the season through books. All of these beautiful book covers really do fill my soul.
