Anyone who knows me knows that I am infamous for saying things like, “I should really read that,” or “That book is at the top of my TBR!”
I. Say. It. ALL. THE. TIME.
It’s a problem, because these books are usually on my TBR for YEARS before I actually read them.
Therefore, the logical conclusion is to continue saying exactly what I always say with this magnificent tag I found on Motif by Tonya. This tag has some fun questions, and I am excited to reestablish the massive amount of books on my TBR.

A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read
I have seen A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro recommended to me countless times. Although it has never been recommended to me specifically, I know it is a book that I am going to love, because of the genre and premise. It sounds amazing, and I need to read it so I can finally understand all the hype!
A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up
According to Goodreads, I have had Red Rising, by Pierce Brown, on my TBR shelf since 2015. That is a long time. And yet, I still don’t even own a copy of the book. The premise of the story honestly sounds so interesting and incredible, so I need to get my butt in gear and get this book into my brain!
A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet
I read Cinder by Marissa Meyer in the summer of 2017 and LOVED it. I flew through the book. However, directly after reading it, I fell into a reading slump, and I ended up putting Scarlet down quickly after starting it. I am planning on rereading Cinder and then going on to finish the rest of the series… soon…
A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read
I am going to change this question a little. In all honesty, I have little to no desire to read classic books. I finished reading Anna Karenina a few years ago and it took me three years to read… and I feel like a gained absolutely nothing from the experience other than the fact that I can say that I read the book.
So, I am going to answer this question with a classic that I read years ago that I actually enjoyed, and I am hoping to reread sometime in the future. 1984 by George Orwell is wild, and I want to experience it again as an older human than the high schooler who was worried about the test on it.
A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read
I mean, I could answer this question with an infinite list of books that would grow by the day, but that would take far too much time and space on my blog, so I guess I will choose Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I am only now finishing the Grisha trilogy. I am sure it will take me another five years until I get to this one.
A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet
This movie made me ugly cry, at 3 a.m., when I was supposed to be quiet because the entire house was asleep. Oh boy, this story. I know a lot of people read Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson in Middle School, with their English class. I was not fortunate, or unfortunate, enough to have that, so I would love to read it now and cry for a second time.
A book you see all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet
Don’t fear, I do have a copy of this book! But of course, it is still sitting on my shelf, untouched. I could have picked so many books for this question! I swear, I think I buy half my books because I am seeing them all over Bookstagram. That marketing strategy really works for me, so keep it up, publishers! A couple months ago, I had my three year anniversary on Bookstagram and I was thinking about how that culture has impacted me, and my wallet, so much. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black not only looks beautiful in pictures but also has gotten incredible reviews.

Well, this post just called me out on what a bad book blogger I am. Maybe I should use this as a TBR for the summer. That’s a good idea…
I probably won’t do it.
Talk to me!
Have you read any of these books?
What book have you been dying to read the longest?
How many books are currently on your TBR?
Let me know in the comments below!
Love,

I really need to read Red Rising too but it seems so intense that I need to be in the right mood to make sure I concentrate!
Yeah, I definitely feel that! There are so many books that I want to read, but I need to be in the right mood. I am such a mood reader haha!
OK so I still need to read a lot of these myself haha.
Definitely recommend Six of Crows, especially as you’re finishing up the Grisha trilogy.

Thank you! I definitely want to read Six of Crows soon so that I can still be in the same world.
Cinder is also a series that I have not finished. LOL I felt the first book was alright but I just never picked up anything after that. If you happen to, I cannot wait to see your thoughts.
Thank you so much! I am mostly interested in how the author integrated all the various fairytales into one interweaving storyline. I think that is such an intriguing concept.
I recently listened to the audiobook for The Cruel Prince after having it on my phone for over a year. Oh my word I absolutely adored it and I’m not a big fantasy lover either. Would so recommend it!
That is so good to hear! I am so excited to finally understand what the book is all about. I will definitely by reading it soon.
I still need to read Red Rising too and I’m a bit intimidated by it if I’m honest!
I definitely understand that! I think that may be why I have waited so long to read it. I guess we will see if I get to it soon.
I’ve not read a single book on this post! Hope you enjoy them when you read them!
Thank you so much!
I really enjoyed it when I read it a couple years ago. I flew through it in a couple days. I have read a lot of conflicting reviews about it, but I definitely enjoyed it.
i also haven’t read six of crows! 🙂
I am hoping to get to it soon! Let’s hope it lives up to the hype.
