As the weather drops, my love for dark academia rises. There is something about the fall and winter weather that makes me want to read about windy college campuses and dramatic characters.

Two of my favorite books are Ninth House and The Starless Sea. The writing and characters in these two series are amazing and enchanting. Definitely recommend!

As excited as I am for the holiday season, I will say… I do love my pumpkin scented candles. I used to hate gourmand scents, but my palette has changed. I will burn my pumpkin pecan waffle candles any day!

I read The Poppy War a couple of months ago and I get it. I understand why this book was so hyped up. I was completely drawn in by the characters and story, Kuang did an incredible job with this debut. Definitely a 5/5 Star read!

I have been reading Caul Baby by Morgan Jerkins this month with Literati and I am loving it. It is unlike the books I usually read. The magical realism is so well written, and the mood is so tense I can’t put this book down.

I know it is still August, but I am so ready for Fall. But it’s so hard to get in the mood when it is 90 degrees Fahrenheit where I live. I’m just trying to get in the mood by burning my Pumpkin Cupcake candle and watching spooky movies.

Hello! Want to hear something really exciting? Today is the first day of the #owlcrateathon2021 held by @owlcrate and I will be participating in it! I have been low on motivation to read and post, so I am hoping using a readathon will help!

Anyway, here is my TBR for the readathon. It is not too long, because I don’t want to pressure myself, but I’m super excited about both of these reads. They complete each challenge of the readathon, read a book that has been on your TBR the longest (From Twinkle was the first OwlCrate book I received), read 2 books, and complete a bingo. I will be completing the middle row down!

Wow, hello. It has only been 3 months since I last posted. Whoops! I had some burnout from Blogtober, and the holidays are always crazy for me. But I’m back!

I have been reading too! I have started The Housekeeper and The Professor by Yoko Ogawa. I am only a few chapters in but I’m loving it! I don’t know why, but I’m very invested in the characters and I can’t wait to continue with the story.

Of course I do. This is honestly one of the most beautiful books I own, I was already planning to buy it before I even read the plot. Then I learned it was about a dancer who started late in life and I died. That is me! I started dancing later in life. I knew right away I had to add it to my collection.

Of course, characteristically to me, I have yet to actually read the book. But I will get to it eventually. Some day 😂
