Review
Wow! The books in The Boyfriend Series keep getting better and better and the author continues to give readers more interesting and deep characters in the romance genre. These characters were well developed with intricate back-stories that had a clear impact on their present decisions and actions. Megan is a Harry Potter nerd (heck yes) and she continually referenced the series and related things she is experiencing to the story. The characters and story surprised me with how deep and emotional they were. I am not used to this from romance stories and I found that I really enjoyed it.
I loved the writing style in this novel. It painted clear pictures in my head of what the characters were experiencing. I have never been to Ireland but I now feel like I know a little bit more about the country. The writing helped pull me into the story and understand the emotions that the characters were experiencing. My favorite quote from the story is, “her nerves flapping around her stomach like over-caffeinated bats.” There were many small details included that also elevated my enjoyment of the story. One of my favorite aspects of the book was the repeated use of the word “maybe” throughout the story. It helped reinforce the confusion and insecurity that Megan and Zander felt about each other and their relationship.
Overall, this was a fun and quick read that also held depth in the characters and situations. I love the characters in this book and the ending was so dramatic.
