I absolutely love completing book tags on my blog. They are so fun, and I love showcasing other bloggers’ creativity with the questions they create. So I am always looking for more tags, especially during the Autumn season. Bookish content creators make the best fall book tags. They are always so unique and interesting.
On my search this year for some fun tags to complete, I this fall book tag that I have never done before, the “Fall Into Fall Book Tag” created by Silver Button Books. This book tag looks so fun, and the prompts are perfectly Autumnal!
If you are looking for any other fall blog tags this year, check out my original tag, The Halloweentown Book Tag! I created it three years ago, and have done it every year since. It has a lot of fun questions based on one of my favorite Halloween movies, so check it out if you want!
Now, let’s get into the Fall into Fall Book Tag!
Apple Picking: A Bright Shiny Book on Your Shelf
This is probably the shiniest book that I own. Plus Strange the Dreamer by Laini Tayor is one of my all-time favorite books, and I feel like I haven’t mentioned it on this blog in a while! This has to be the most magical book I have ever read. I adore Lazlo and Sarai, and the world that Taylor created in this book is absolutely stunning. If you haven’t read this masterpiece yet, please do!
Pumpkin Spice: A Book that Everyone Loves that Doesn’t sit well With You
As someone who loves pumpkin-spiced everything, I disagree with what this question is implying LOL! But anyway, my answer…
There is nothing wrong with Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson, by any means, but I was not as impressed by this book as many others were. I ended up rating it 3 stars. Despite loving this genre, I just felt like the characters were underdeveloped and the mystery did not excite me as much as I usually want from this genre. But I can also totally understand why others enjoyed it.
Fall Leave Tour: A Gorgeously Written Journey
I have never really been one for books about huge journeys. I usually get bored really fast at the repetitive nature that these books take. But that was not the case with The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang. This book takes the reader all over, and I was invested in every step of the journey. The impressive character development and the beautifully painted world made all the difference with this book. I strive to write with the same skill that Kuang showcased in this book.
Pumpkin Picking: A Book that Reflects the Pumpkin you Always Pick
This question made me laugh. I have never answered such a creative and fun question in any of the fall book tags I do on this blog, and I do a lot.
I like my books the way I like I like my pumpkins… BIG AND ORANGE! LOLOL jk jk, but I do pick the plumpest and brightest pumpkins in the patch, and nothing matches better than The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. I am planning on reading this book in November. I am not sure how long it will take me, so wish me luck. Hopefully, I can finish it before the end of 2021, but no promises there.
Halloween Costume: A Book with a Character whose Style you Admire
As someone with aphantasia, this was a really difficult question to answer. I don’t tend to pay attention to character appearance, or clothing because I cannot imagine it in my mind. But I do remember being excited by the beautiful outfits that Amani was put in when she was pretending to be Princess Maram. I definitely wish I could live out my fairytale dream of wearing beautiful gowns and having people do whatever I say.
Fall Beverage: A Book that Reflects your Favorite Fall Drink
Well, my favorite fall drink is a pumpkin spiced latté, warm and cozy. When I read A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer two years ago, during the summer, I remember desperately wanting it to be fall or winter. The scenes with the three main characters sitting by a fire, drinking warm drinks, and playing card games, made me want cool weather and pumpkin everything. This book gives off such cozy vibes. It is also a retelling of a classic fairy tale, one I remember a lot from my childhood. Fells like a warm nostalgic hug.
Corn Maze: A Book you get Lost In
When I was reading The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern, I would get absolutely lost in that pages, and it felt like the world was melting away. All I wanted was to get lost in the endless libraries with cats and random nooks to sit in and read. That would be a dream. This book was just as magical as Morgenstern’s other work, The Night Circus. I will buy anything this author puts out, I get absolutely lost in their words.
Hot Food: The Book that you Waited all Summer to Read
I have mentioned this before, but I plan all year for the books I put on my October TBR. It is my favorite month of reading, and I want to fill it with anything and everything spooky. So when I got my hands on a copy of The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones in late April, I knew I needed to wait all summer so I could read it in the fall. This book looks like a perfect October read, I can’t wait to dive into the world.
These questions were so unique, I love completing this fall book tag! I definitely had to think about some of these which was a lot of fun! It is so creative how book bloggers can turn anything into questions about books, I find it so fun!
I don’t usually tag people in tags, so everyone is welcome to join in!
Let me know in the comments below if you have a fall book tag! I would love to find some more unique and fun fall book tags to try on my blog this Autumn!
Thanks for reading!
I absolutely adore your answers to each and every one of these prompts! Thanks so much for participating.
And yeeessssss to Truly Devious. I listened to it as an audiobook and the repetitiveness of the whole thing was so hard to get through. But everyone loved it so much! I always wonder if the hype makes me lose any cushion of understanding I usually give an author.
Enjoy your Pumpkin Spice!
I have no idea what is going on but I keep trying to leave a reply – I hope I am not sending multiples! I just love (LOVE) your answers to this tag! Thank you so much for participating.
I could not agree more with your thoughts on Truly Devious. People really loved it but I thought it was repetitive. Maybe the audiobook didn’t help because that darn little rhyming note was every 15 minutes.
Enjoy your pumpkin spice!!
Super weird that the comments got stuck somewhere in the Internet black hole haha! I so wish I liked Truly Devious like so many did! I agree with you though, it was very repetitive. i got bored haha.
Thanks for making a fun tag! I loved participating!
